An interactive sound and light sculpture made from upcycled circuit boards.
Commissioned by Handmade Parade for the Todmorden Lamplighter in October 2015.
The Green Panet is not lush with vegitation, it’s surface is completely covered with the detritus of consumer-electronics. The Northern hemisphere is made from unpopulated circuit boards from products which were never completed. The Southern hemisphere is densley populated with used circuit boards covered in components and circuitry. The sound and light features react to visitors touching extendable robotic arms that protrude from the planet.
This installation draws attention to global themes of waste, population, sustainability and the consequences of rampant consumerism.
