Cymatics: sound vibration patterns
We have many years experience of performing cymatics demonstrations at events, museums and in schools. These use either:
- a Chladni plate with scattered grains forming patterns as the plate vibrates due to being bowed, or
- a powerful speaker driver with grains, liquids or non-Newtonian fluids, responding to sine waves produced by a signal generator and/or Bass Drives. See Bass Buzz for more.

Oobleck/ non-Newtonian fluid & water cymatics in a speaker driver

Cymatics demonstrations and participatory activities are suitable for:
- stand-alone drop-in/science busking activity
- Supplementary feature to the Acousatron installation
- demonstration
New for 2026: laser systems for projected cymatics & amplified Chladni plate.
