‘Recycled Remix’ for the Science & Media Museum, Bradford
Set of 12 upcycled instruments /sound Tinkering units built for the museum’s summer programme 2026.
- 3 X Loop stations; contact mic on metal plate with acoustic objects. Play the instrument, record, loop, use effects to build a composition / soundscape.
- 2 X Bass Drives; hacked hard drives as electromagnetic tone generators. Bass outputs amplified & displayed on an oscilloscope screen.
- 3 X motor blocks with 4 up-cycled cooler fans. Complete the circuit to spin the motor/fan which strikes acoustic objects.
- 3 X double contact mic units; amplify acoustic objects.
- Zero-input mixer; adjust the equaliser controls to sculpt feedback into chaotic synth-like tones.
Buggy Battles – Science & Media Museum
Adaptation of our Buggy Battles workshop for use in-house at the museum, with pre-built clone Buggies and specially written code for quick-start use in school visit workshops.
Buggy Battles is an introductory workshop on design, coding, electronics and sensors.

Stand by your Manesta
Interactive art piece inspired by suffragette Evelyn Manesta, built for ‘Deeds not Words’, Grosvenor Gallery, Manchester.
Visitors’ hammer blows smash the virtual glass facade of equality in our society, revealing an audio collage of dark, comical and sinister reflections of (and on) popular culture. Each strike triggers one of 100 pre-composed audio samples which mangle pop songs and tell Evelyn’s fascinating story.
